About Academy

HESED ACADEMY was founded with a vision to provide world-class skills to young learners, preparing them to navigate the future—a cosmos of unknown treasures. We believe in nurturing not only academic wisdom but also the essential skillsets a child will need to shape their future. We strive to carefully cultivate some of those critical skills, empowering children to achieve great heights.

HESED was formed by a team of experts and scholars from global universities, with enriching experience in Early Childhood Education, Language Learning, and Learning Psychology of children, applying international teaching methods, conducting extensive research with leading educators and surveying parents.

At Hesed Academy, we believe every child’s voice deserves to be heard with clarity, confidence, and kindness. We help ESL learners communicate in English, embracing its natural nuances while gently moving beyond mother tongue influence.

Dr. J. Mangaiyarkarasi, MA, M.Phil, Ph.D.

She has over 20 years of experience teaching English Language and Literature to UG and PG students in India and supervising research at Ethiraj College, Chennai. She holds an MA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in English Language Teaching from Loyola College, University of Madras. Her expertise includes syllabus and curriculum design, innovative teaching methods, and integrating technology—including AI and augmented reality—into language education.

She has guided nine doctoral scholars, adjudicated over 40 Ph.D. theses, and serves as National Coordinator of ELTAI, and associate of IATEFL and TESOL. She is also on the Board of Directors of a literary association promoting adult literacy.

Dr. Sheela Ragavan, MA, M.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D.

With over three decades of experience, Dr. Ragavan began her career as a French teacher and rose to Vice Principal (Academics) and Principal. She has expertise in syllabus gradation, curriculum design, textbook preparation, micro-level lesson planning, and holistic student development. She is also a trainer and lead assessor for the Quality Council of India (QCI).

Committed to staying at the forefront of educational practices, she visited schools in Dubai and Canada and completed advanced programs in educational leadership and teacher training, culminating in her Ph.D. in Psychology in 2015. She empowers educators through workshops on creativity, innovation, stress management, self-esteem, behavior, and leadership.
